In order to maintain the support provided to its member Unions, Rugby Americas North is looking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the role of Regional Development Manager (RDM).Download the RDM Job Description here.In line with Rugby Americas North’s Strategic Plans, the successful candidate will support the implementation and delivery of the region's and individual Member Union's rugby development by delivering needs-based coaching, officiating, development and corporate governance programmes.The successful candidate will work towards achieving targets set by Rugby Americas North and will report to the General Manager of Rugby Americas North and EXCO. Job Title:Regional Development Manager (RDM)Team:Regionally engagedReports to:RAN General Manager (Direct)Location:Rugby Americas North (RAN)Job Purpose:In line with RAN’s Strategic Plans, support the implementation and delivery of the regions coaching, officiating, development and corporate governance programmes.Key Accountabilities:Planning: • Undertakes a regional needs analysis to identify gaps in RAN and RAN member Union development programs, competition pathways and infrastructure.• Advises and assists (where necessary) Unions in the creation of their strategic and operational rugby development plans• Monitors Unions’ strategic, operational and rugby development plans on a semi-annual and yearly basis and ensures that annual operational plans are in place that align with the Development Grant allocation• Review strategic and rugby development plan outcomes towards the end of the 4 year cycle (2020-2024 etc.)• Attend RAN EXCO and Staff meetings as necessary• Advise RAN’s General Manager on RAN’s and the Union Trust Grant processProgram Delivery:• Deliver RAN’s and World Rugby’s game development programme, where and when required• Share best practices with Unions to enable the implementation of RAN’s and World Rugby’s game development programs.• Serve as Technical Expert Resource for RAN Member Unions• Serve as lead for RAN Olympic Solidarity applications and initiatives• Advise and assist Unions with game development programming, as appropriate• Supports all aspects of each Union’s development officer identification appointment and training as required.• Promotes and encourages the application of long-term game development pathways for players, coaches and officials, where appropriate.• Supervise RAN’s GIR program, with an emphasis developing strategies for Unions to transition Play and Stay phases, and ensure that all RAN and World Rugby reporting requirements are attended to in a timely manner.Training and Development:• Where necessary, assist with the delivery of trainer and educator programs in RAN.• Manage quality assurance on the delivery and outcomes of workshops on an on-going basis.• Works with the RTM to address training and education gaps identified in needs analysisTournaments and Projects:• Participate, as and when required, in strategic planning exercises for RAN and World Rugby tournaments• Advise on the relative strategic value of Union hosted tournaments.• Undertake operational roles at RAN and World Rugby Tournaments, as and when required.• Undertake special projects from time to time, as agreed with the RAN General ManagerOther:To undertake any other duties as appropriate, within their competence, as required by RAN.Job Description ContinuedKey Dimensions:Number and Level of staff:Currently one direct reportSupervision of RANs Get into Rugby Coordinator.Financial Responsibility:Preparation and ongoing monitoring of programme budget as directed by the RAN General Manager.Monitoring of RANs annual Investment Grants in conjunction with Regional Rugby Services Manager and RAN General ManagerPhysical Resource Responsibility:Regional Training, Development and Education equipment including IT resources used for programme delivery.Working Environment:Split between office and field, regular international travel.
