Querétaro, Mexico – The 2024 edition of the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Men's U19 and Women's XVs tournament took place at FC Total as Rugby Mexico hosted the tournament. With five men's U19 and three women's sides, rugby kicked off Wednesday, July 10. All participating countries showcased their best fifteen-a-side players over the course of four days of competition.
Saturday teed up #4 Mexico vs #3 Trinidad & Tobago in a close contest while #1 USA South edged out a scrappy #2 Bermuda in a thrilling gold medal final. After USA South women defeated Trinidad & Tobago and Mexico in tournament play, locking up 1st place in the tournament portion of the event, Mexico faced Trinidad & Tobago in full International test match – making it the first full test Mexico Women have played in. With World Rugby ranking points up for grabs for both sides, Mexico performed at home in front of their fans to lock up a 27-0 win. The inaugural test match win pushed Mexico to 31st in the Women's world standing.
