RAN Announces 2025 Senior Men’s and Women’s XVs Test Match Schedule

Rugby Americas North (RAN) is excited to announce a competitive slate of senior men’s and women’s International test matches for 2025. Whilst player development and driving competition continues to be a pivotal aspect of the growth for our region, these matches also offer more repetitions for our referees, match commissioners, and off-field admin across multiple host RAN member Unions, thus continuing to improve their delivery.

MEN’S

The nine men’s test matches that took place around the region in 2024 placed our top four countries into the Rugby Americas North Men’s XVs Finals. The competition will continue with the North Semifinal on May 3, where México hosts Jamaica. The South Semifinal will take place in Port of Spain on May 31 with Barbados traveling to Trinidad & Tobago. The results of those two matches will determine the host of the Men’s XV Final in June.

North Semifinal: Mexico v Jamaica – May 3 in Mexico City, México

South Semifinal: Trinidad & Tobago v Barbados – May 31 in Port of Spain, Trinidad

In conjunction, matches will continue to be played between Guyana, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines for further development and continued World Rugby rankings opportunities. Starting in 2026, the RAN Men’s XV will be comprised of three Tiers, allowing all participating Unions the opportunity to compete in the Regional 2031 Rugby World Cup pathway.

April 26 – Guyana v Cayman Islands

May 17 – Bahamas v Bermuda

May 17 – Barbados v Guyana

June 13 – Cayman Islands v Bermuda

TBD – St. Lucia v St. Vincent & the Grenadines

WOMEN’S

With Canada (RAN1) and USA (RAN2) both preparing for RWC 2025, rankings from the upcoming inter-regional test matches will be used to help determine RAN3 and RAN4. Countries placed as RAN3 and RAN4 will qualify for a chance to play across-regional game later in the year. Further down the line, World Rugby rankings will also support the determination of the team(s) that may qualify for global World Rugby competitions.

After breaking into the World Rugby standings for the first-time in 2024, México’s pair of home-soil wins over Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica provided meaningful minutes for all three countries. Competition will be ramping up in 2025 as programs have been pursuing more assembly and playing opportunities in the international off-season. Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago will be hosting matches in the coming months.

May 24 – Jamaica v México

May 31 – Jamaica v Trinidad & Tobago

June 28 – Trinidad & Tobago v México
