Today, World Rugby announced the full schedule for their Sevens Challenger Series 2023, taking place in Stollenbosch, South Africa at Markotter Stadium. 12 Men's and 12 Women's teams will assemble to compete across April 20-22 and 28-30, seeing the winner of women’s competition securing Sevens World Series entry and the Men’s competition winner to enter a four-team play-off at the HSBC London Sevens in May 2023.After qualifying at the 2022 Super Rugby Americas North (RAN) Sevens in Mexico City, RAN will be represented by Jamaica (Men) and Mexico (Women). Each side beat their respective counterparts, with Mexico women defeating Jamaica, 33-12, and the Jamaica Men edged out the hosts, 19-14, to punch their returning tickets to the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series.
At the 2022 event, Mexico finished 12th and Jamaica placed 10th so both sides will look to improve about their results. Mexico will open up their Series campaign agent Madagascar in Pool E and Jamaica will take on Korea in Pool C on Thursday, April 20. Broadcast details to come.VIEW THE OPENING LEG SCHEDULE HERE
