March 20, 2020 – Today, Rugby Americas announced that the 2020 Under-20 Americas Rugby Championship, which was set to take place June 10 – 18 in Montevideo, Uruguay, will be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.“Player, staff and public welfare is always the top priority and after discussions with competing unions, stakeholders and World Rugby, we have determined that the decision to postpone the 2020 Under-20 Americas Rugby Championship is in everyone’s best interest,” said Rugby Americas President, Agustin Pichot.Today’s announcement follows the cancellation of the global sport of rugby over the last two weeks, from grassroots to professional, including Major League Rugby, Superliga Americana de Rugby and HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.“Currently, we are evaluating a very fluid and evolving environment across North & South America and the world.
