Rugby Expert Visits SVG
The SVG Rugby Union has welcomed a rugby coaching expert after successfully applying for an Olympic Solidarity grant through the SVG Olympic Committee. Ruben Duque was selected by World Rugby to help develop the sport of rugby sevens and to support the union by analyzing structures to help them grow and move forwards.Ruben will be visiting St. Vincent over the next 4 months conducting various meetings, clinics, coaching sessions, and conducting courses for persons involved in coaching rugby sevens and the schools Get Into Rugby programme.President Sophie Goddard commented, “It is hoped that after Ruben’s visits and analysis of the Union as a whole, we’ll be in a better position to develop our local coaches and persons involved in the union, so we have more structure and development pathways for the future.
