Pools announced for Fireminds RAN Sevens 2021

September 27, 2021 - Today, tournament organizers announced pools for next month's Fireminds Rugby Americas North Sevens in Turks and Caicos.Held at the picturesque Meridian Rugby Fields in Providenciales, the event marks the return to international competition for RAN's region, and acts as an official qualifier for the 2022 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series. The winner of that tournament, with dates and location yet to be announced by World Rugby, booking the 16th and final spot on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.Having just featured in back-to-back tournaments on the World Series over the last two weekends in Vancouver and Edmonton, Jamaica and Mexico - who will headline Pool A and B respectively - enter the tournament as favourites to meet in the Cup Final on day two. Pool A is joined by Dominican Republic and the BVI, while Pool B will see the hosts Turks and Caicos alongside Barbados. Pool C sees Bermuda, Guyana, Curacao and Belize, who are set to make their international sevens debut, set to square off on day one. On day one, teams in Pool A & B will play two games to decide who will advance to the cup competition on day two. Pool C, which has four teams, will see each nation play three games on day one.In the Cup Competition on day two, teams will play two matches to amongst their respective pools to decide positioning for the Cup final, Bronze final and 5th place playoff.
