September 22, 2021 – With less than one month until kick off, Rugby Americas North (RAN) is delighted to announce Fireminds as title sponsor of the upcoming 2021 Fireminds RAN Sevens in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos on October 16 &17.Held at the picturesque Meridian Fields in conjunction with the Turks and Caicos Rugby Union, this year’s event marks the return of international rugby to the Caribbean since the COVID-19 began.Ten nations – Turks and Caicos, Jamaica, Mexico, Barbados, Bermuda, Guyana, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Curaçao and Dominican Republic – are set to compete with the winner booking their ticket to the upcoming World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series. The winner of that competition, held in 2022, will join the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series as the 16th and final team.RAN’s annual sevens competition is the premier tournament throughout the region and regularly acts as a qualifying tournament for major events like the Rugby World Cup 7s, Commonwealth Games, Pan-American Games and other international events.
Located in the Village of Grace Bay, Meridian Rugby Fields includes an International standard grass pitch – which is a rare commodity on an island known for sand – and a clubhouse owned by the union.
