• 18 Teams set to compete in one of Rugby Americas North’s largest senior sevens events to date
• Originally set for two days, the now three-day event will take place in Arima, Trinidad November 22-24 at Larry Gomes Stadium
• Champions from the Tier 1 Men’s and Women’s brackets will qualify for the WorldRugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2025
• The top two teams, excluding Canada who is pre-qualified, from theTier 1 Men’s and Women’s brackets will qualify their countries for the 2025Junior Pan American Games’ Sevens competition
• Men’s Tier 2 Winner will be promoted into Tier 1 in 2025 in a promotion-relegation format
The 2024 Rugby Americas North (RAN) Sevens competition landscape has been set, ready to showcase the region’s senior sevens talent across a new format, three-bracket tournament. Last year’s tournament acted as the Olympic Qualifying Event for Paris 2024 and was held in Langford, British Columbia, Canada. USA Men and Canada Women booked their tickets to Paris as tournament champions, with Canada Men and Mexico Women the Runners Up, and Mexico Men and Jamaica Women finishing third.
The men’s side of this year’s competition features two tiers; Tier 1 will include the top eight teams from the region based on prior years’ results and standings, and Tier 2 features countries eager to develop and compete up into the region’s top eight. Canada’s men have their sights set on the tournament’s grand prize of the World Rugby HSBCSevens Challenger 2025 qualification after being relegated from the HSBC SVNSSeries earlier this year. As the tournament returns to the Caribbean, RAN welcomes the return of the Cayman Islands, Guyana, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, and Turks & CaicosIslands.

The Barbados Women are eager to compete after significant growth in their domestic club scene as well as the Dominican Republic Women who last played in this event in2022. Trinidad & Tobago’s women look to build off their development thepast two years from their fifteens program to field two sides as the tournament host nation. Mexico’s women bring their World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2024experience back to the regional tournament, where regional rivals Jamaica hope to reclaim the Challenger opportunity.
